Following all the rumours and the kind of hoop-la around the Volkswagen emissions scandal, the famous Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio will produce a film about the scandal after Paramount acquired the movie rights.
The film will be based around the book currently being written by New York Times correspondent Jack Ewing detailing the dieselgate scandal. Set to comprehensively document VW’s ongoing woes, the book will describe in details how the German automaker cheated diesel emissions tests by installing software that limited emissions when its 2.0-litre diesel was being tested by the U.S.’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Alongside DiCaprio, the movie will be produced by Jennifer Davisson through the pair’s Appian Way company. As of yet, no actors or a director have been named for the film and such details are unlikely to come any time soon.
